Flared in your AI assistant.

Connect an assistant to the Flared MCP server. Then ask it in plain words to create short links, make QR codes, change where a link goes, and explain your clicks.

Before you start

You need a Flared account. Sign up with your email; the Free plan works with every tool. The server address is https://api.flared.page/mcp. You need no API token: the assistant signs in with your Flared account.

Connect

  • Claude (web, desktop, and mobile): open Settings, then Connectors. Select Add custom connector, name it Flared, and enter https://api.flared.page/mcp. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds it in the organization settings first.
  • Claude Code: run the command below, then run /mcp and select flared to sign in.
  • ChatGPT: turn on developer mode under Settings, Apps, Advanced settings. Then create a connector with the address and OAuth.
  • Cursor and VS Code: sign in to Flared and open Settings, Connected apps. The install buttons there open your editor with the server filled in.
  • Another assistant: add a remote MCP server with the address and OAuth sign-in.
claude mcp add --transport http flared https://api.flared.page/mcp

Sign in and permissions

When you connect, the assistant opens Flared in your browser. Sign in, then check the consent page. It shows the app’s name, the address it returns to, and what it asks for:

  • See your links
  • Create, edit, and turn off links
  • See click analytics
  • See your domains
  • See your plan usage

Approve to connect. The assistant works only in your workspace. It cannot add or remove domains, delete links, change your plan, or see your billing details. To disconnect, open Settings, Connected apps in Flared and remove the app; it stops working at once.

Tools

Six tools only read. Four tools change your links, so your assistant can ask you to confirm them first. No tool deletes a link: a link that is off can come back on.

list_links Reads
Lists your links, newest first, with clicks in the last 30 days. Can search by slug, title, or destination.
get_link Reads
Gets one link by its ID or slug.
get_link_qr Reads
Gets a PNG QR code of a short URL.
get_link_analytics Reads
Gets clicks for one link by day, country, device, referrer, browser, and operating system.
get_usage Reads
Gets this month’s clicks, active links, and custom domains against your plan limits.
list_domains Reads
Lists your domains, their status, and the DNS records to create.
create_link Changes links
Creates a public short link to a URL, on flared.link or on one of your active domains.
update_link Changes links
Changes the destination or title of a link. The short URL stays the same.
disable_link Changes links
Turns a link off, so its short URL stops redirecting.
enable_link Changes links
Turns a link back on.

Example prompts

  • “Make a short link to https://example.com/spring-sale with the slug spring-sale, and show me its QR code.”
  • “Which of my links got the most clicks in the last 30 days, and where did those clicks come from?”
  • “Point my launch link to https://example.com/launch-v2 and tell me how many clicks it had last week.”
  • “How close is my workspace to its monthly click limit?”

Your data

The assistant receives only what its tools return: your links, their click counts, your domains, and your usage. Flared does not receive your conversation. Flared stores the app’s name, the permissions you approved, and the times it issued access tokens, and keeps the tokens only in hashed form. The privacy policy has the details.

Troubleshooting

  • The assistant cannot connect: check the address, https://api.flared.page/mcp, and sign in again from the assistant’s connector settings.
  • A link on your domain fails: a custom domain serves links only when it is active. Ask the assistant to list your domains to see its status.
  • A plan limit error: your workspace has reached its active link limit. Turn off a link you no longer use, or see Plus.
  • Tools stopped working: the app was removed in Settings, or your account was deleted. Connect again.
