Microsoft Teams
Flared posts link alerts, a weekly summary, and automation runs in Microsoft Teams channels. Each channel gets its posts through a Workflows link that you make in Teams. Teams is part of Plus and Founding Lifetime. The workspace owner sets it up in the dashboard under Integrations, Microsoft Teams. Members see the Teams page, but only the owner changes it.
Add a channel
Each Teams rule posts in one channel through its own workflow link:
- In Teams, open the channel.
- Choose More options (…), then Workflows.
- Pick the template “Send webhook alerts to a channel” and choose Save.
- Copy the workflow link.
- In Flared, open Integrations, Microsoft Teams, add a rule, and paste the link.
Give the rule a name, such as the channel name. The name shows only in Flared. Flared
accepts a workflow link on environment.api.powerplatform.com or logic.azure.com only, over HTTPS.
Anyone with the link can post in the channel, so keep it secret. Flared keeps the link encrypted and never shows it again. To change it, edit the rule and paste a new link.
Teams shows each post as a Workflows post from the person who made the workflow. The workflow belongs to that person. When their account is removed, or when someone deletes the workflow, the link stops working.
Link alerts
A link alert rule posts in one channel. Add a rule on the Teams page and choose its events:
- Link created
- A link was created in the dashboard, the CLI, the API, MCP, or an import.
- Link changed
- The destination, the title, or an app link of a link changed.
- Link turned off
- The short URL stopped redirecting.
- Link turned on
- The short URL redirects again.
- Click milestones
- A link reached a number of counted clicks. Each rule chooses its interval: a multiple of 100, from 100 to 1,000,000.
Flared posts an alert right after the change, and a click milestone within about 10 minutes. The events are the same as the webhook events.
Weekly summary
A weekly summary posts in one channel once a week. Add a summary on the Teams page and choose the day, the hour, and the time zone of the post. The default is Monday at 09:00 in the time zone of your browser.
The summary shows the total clicks of the last 7 full UTC days before the post, the change from the 7 days before them, and the 5 links with the most clicks. The days are UTC days, as in the analytics, and the message says so.
Automation posts
To post when an automation runs, add a channel under Automation channels on the Teams page. Then, in a template on the Automations page, choose the action Post a message and pick the channel. The post names the automation, its trigger, the link, and the actions that ran. See Automations.
Turn a rule off
Each rule has its own switch, so you can turn a rule off and keep it. Posts that are due while a rule is off are skipped. Send test posts a test message in the rule’s channel. The Teams page shows the recent posts of each rule.
Messages
- Each post is an Adaptive Card with the name of the Flared workspace at the bottom.
- Each link alert shows the short link, and the title if the link has one. A Link created alert also shows the destination. A Link changed alert shows each changed field, with the old and the new value.
- An alert in a card of its own has an Open in Flared button to the link’s page. A summary has an Open analytics button.
- Up to 10 alerts for one rule at the same time come in one card.
Retries
Flared retries a failed post the same way it retries a webhook: up to 10 attempts over 72 hours. When Teams asks Flared to slow down, Flared waits and posts later. Flared keeps the result of each post for 30 days.
Link problems
When Teams answers that the workflow link is not valid, or that the workflow is gone, Flared turns the rule off. The Teams page shows Turned off and asks for a new link. Make a new workflow in the channel, then choose Paste a new link on the rule. The rule turns on again with the new link.
Limits
- Plus and Founding Lifetime include 20 Teams rules per workspace: link alert rules, weekly summaries, and automation channels together. Teams rules do not count against the 20 Slack rules or the 5 webhook endpoints. Free does not include Teams. See pricing.
- When Plus ends, Flared stops posting. The owner can still remove rules.
- Teams is set up in the dashboard only. The API and the MCP server do not change Teams settings.
- A self-hosted installation does not include Teams.
Remove a rule
Remove deletes the rule and its workflow link from Flared. The workflow stays in Teams until you delete it there. A template with Post a message to a removed channel still runs its other actions, and the link’s page shows that the place to post was removed. Deleting the Flared workspace deletes every Teams rule.
